Cystatin C launching
We are glad to inform you that we launch a new reagent for measurement of Cystatin C in serum and plasma.
Cystatin C is a non-glycosylated basic protein, a novel serum marker for the diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD), which is particularly useful for detection in the early stages. Cystatin C is suggested to be a better marker for detection of reduced glomerular filtration rate (GFR) than creatinine, especially for the detection of a moderate impairment of kidney function. The cystatin C blood level is, in contrast to creatinine, less dependent on factors such as gender, muscle mass and age, consequently is considered constant.
In addition, in a change in GFR, serum cystatin C levels are affected much earlier than creatinine, allowing earlier diagnosis.
We hope this new product developed by BioSystems S.A. helps you to get high precision results.
